Danny Krichel, independent marketer and founder of d beard

Hi, I'm Danny.

I work where marketing, product, technology and creativity meet.

I have spent more than 15 years working across marketing and creative disciplines, with much of that experience built inside international, product-driven environments.

Over the years, my work has moved far beyond simply creating campaigns or content. I have worked on product launches, digital platforms, websites, email marketing, product communication, analytics, marketing processes, creative production and increasingly the practical use of AI within marketing teams.

That broad background has shaped the way I approach marketing today. I rarely see a website problem as just a website problem, or a product launch as just a campaign. Marketing usually connects to product, sales, customer experience, technology and internal processes.

Understanding those connections is often where the most useful improvements begin.

Why d beard?

Senior marketing support without unnecessary layers.

d beard gives me the freedom to work directly with companies and teams that need experienced marketing support without building another layer of agency management around the work.

You work directly with me.

That means the person helping define the strategy is also able to stay involved when it is time to write, build, launch, analyse or improve it.

For some clients that means taking ownership of a clearly defined marketing project. For others it means becoming temporary additional capacity inside an existing marketing team. Sometimes the challenge is strategic. Sometimes it is very practical.

Usually, it is a combination of both.

Strategy and execution belong together.

I enjoy strategic thinking, but I am not interested in producing recommendations that disappear into a presentation afterwards.

If something needs to be implemented, I want to understand how it will actually work.

That might mean turning positioning into product pages, building campaign structures, improving tracking, developing launch materials, setting up marketing workflows or working directly with designers, developers, product teams and sales.

My creative and technical background helps here. I understand enough of the disciplines surrounding marketing to communicate with the people doing the work, while still keeping the commercial objective in focus.

Good marketing should not only sound right. It should work in the real world.

I think that sentence would be a nice larger pull quote halfway down the page.

How I like to work

Start with the problem
Tools and channels come later. First understand what actually needs to change.

Keep things practical
Clear recommendations, realistic plans and work that can actually be implemented.

Connect the dots
Product, sales, digital, creative, data and technology should support each other.

Stay curious
Markets, technology and customer behaviour keep changing. Marketing needs to keep learning too.

Experience across disciplines

A broad toolkit, one marketing perspective.

My experience includes product marketing, go-to-market, digital marketing, websites, content, email, analytics, campaign development, creative production, marketing technology and AI-supported workflows.

I do not offer every one of those disciplines as a standalone service.

Instead, I use that experience to understand the bigger picture and bring in the right combination of skills for the challenge at hand.

International by nature

Based in the Netherlands. Comfortable working across borders.

I am based in the south of the Netherlands, close to both Germany and Belgium, and much of my professional experience has been built in an international working environment.

Working across markets, teams and cultures has become a normal part of how I operate. Most d beard projects can therefore be handled remotely, with on-site collaboration where it genuinely adds value.

For me, remote does not mean distant. Good communication, ownership and clear expectations matter much more than where someone happens to open their laptop.

Die laatste zin vind ik persoonlijk sterk voor de remote-positionering die je wilt neerzetten.

Where d beard fits

Sometimes you don’t need another full-time hire.

You may need someone to help get a product launch under control. Someone to improve how your marketing is measured. Someone who can bring structure to a digital project, challenge the positioning or simply add experienced capacity while your internal team is busy.

That is where d beard fits.

Projects can range from focused marketing sprints and individual assignments to recurring fractional support or collaboration with agencies and internal marketing teams.

Let's see what needs moving.

You do not need a finished brief before getting in touch. If there is a marketing challenge, project or idea you would like to discuss, tell me what is happening and where you think support could help.
