The challenge

Product launches in technical B2B environments often involve far more than publishing a new product page. Product information needs to be translated into something the market understands, sales teams need useful materials, digital channels need to be prepared and messaging needs to stay consistent across touchpoints.

In this case, the challenge was to turn a large amount of technical product information into a clearer commercial story while coordinating the marketing elements needed for launch.

The approach

I approached the launch from the buyer’s perspective rather than starting with the individual marketing channels. The first step was identifying which product characteristics actually mattered to the intended audience and translating those into relevant benefits, applications and messaging.

From there, the same positioning could be used consistently across website content, email communication, campaign assets and sales support materials. This created a clearer connection between the technical product information and the way the product was presented to the market.

What I worked on

  • Product positioning and messaging
  • Product descriptions and website content
  • Go-to-market planning
  • Email marketing
  • Campaign assets
  • Sales enablement materials
  • Coordination between product, sales and marketing
  • Launch communication across digital channels

The outcome

The launch resulted in a more consistent product story across marketing and sales touchpoints, making it easier to communicate the product’s value beyond its technical specifications.

More importantly, the project reinforced the value of involving marketing early enough in the launch process. Stronger coordination between product information, messaging and execution reduces last-minute marketing work and creates a clearer experience for both customers and sales teams.

What this project shows

Good product marketing is not simply about explaining what a product does. It connects product knowledge, customer needs and commercial execution before the launch reaches the market.
